SOCIOCULTURAL PROJECT TO INSERT OLDER ADULTS INTO COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Abstract

Third age is a stage of life highly influenced and determined by social opinion, the community and culture in which the elderly live. Contributing to raising the quality of life of these people not only from health and social assistance, but also from the sociocultural perspective is a premise for the community projects promoted by cultural policy in Cuba, highlighting work in the community network. The result of the research was the development of a sociocultural project to promote the development of protective environments and environments that contribute to the insertion of the elderly and improve their quality of life. The topic addressed is a consequence of the review of research carried out with this problem and the needs provided by the diagnosis carried out in the "Nito Ortega" district of the Palma Soriano Municipality in which the absence of sociocultural activities for the elderly was ranked as a pressing problem. The fundamental methods used at the theoretical level: synthesis analysis, historical-logical inductive-deductive and system approach. From the empirical level: document analysis, participant observation, specialist criteria, interviews and surveys, socialization workshops, case study and methodological triangulation between methods. From the mathematical-statistical level, descriptive statistics.
