The Africa-Caribbean honorary chair: local development and sociocultural work

Abstract

Created in 2011, the Africa-Caribbean Honorary Chair has been a space for research and exchange of the culture of the countries of the regions of this geographical area. From one of the substantive processes of the educational teaching process, the university extension, the chair has contributed to local development by developing cooperation with educational institutions in the local environment in which it is located and it has carried out an important sociocultural work by linking the extensionist work to the cultural artistic movement of the province and to the promotion of cultural values ​​in students. During the pandemic period COVID-19, the chair reaffirmed its extension work through events and workshops on the networks that allowed the participation of students and teachers from all over the island in modalities of research, painting, video, poetry.
