THE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION. ITS INTEGRATION INTO THE TRAINING PROCESS, NECESSITY OR ALTERNATIVE?

Abstract

The economic and social development of our country constantly demands the increase of transcendental alliances between society and higher education. Around this, this work makes a proposal for university extension actions integrated with training and research, essential processes of the university. Taking into account that university extension is a process that energizes university-society links, it is valuable in the training of a professional prepared to take on different challenges and live up to this time, contributing to transforming it. It is from this context that it is considered necessary to assume a proposal for university extension actions, consistent with social needs and projections. These actions must act in an interrelated manner with training and research that favors their introduction into the different university careers for interaction with society. It is expected that it will impact the training of students and produce social change.
